I am a firm believer in having a solid morning routine! How my morning starts off, really sets the tone for the rest of my day. If I start my morning off slow & sluggish, then I feel like I’ve lost my entire day and I have to rush to catch up. If I start my morning off with intention, then I feel as though I really make the most of my day. Everyone has their own morning routine that works best for their life & their family, but I thought I would share how I start my day as a little inspiration for those who might be struggling with that morning time flow!
6:00 AM – Wake Up
My husband leaves for work around 5:30 AM. So, I like to hang out in bed for a little bit, and I usually muster the strength to get out of bed around 6. First thing I do is put on some fresh clothes, then I wash my face, brush my teeth, and put on some moisturizer. This helps me to fully “wake up” and be present for the next part of my morning.
TBH – This does not happen EVERY morning! I do sleep in sometimes!
6:30 AM – Time with the Lord
This is without a doubt the most important part of my morning! This is also my “me time”. Most mornings I will do some sort of devotional; other mornings I’ll watch a sermon or simply just listen to music and search through my Bible. Spending the first hour of my morning indulged in The Word helps set the tone for my day and gives me some peace.
7:30 AM – Coffee
If you know, you know.
8:00 AM – Snuggle Time
This is the time of the morning that my kids usually decide to awaken from their slumber. I use this time to just cuddle with them and soak up all that lovin’ because I know one day they will be way too cool for me.
8:30 AM – Breakfast
Breakfast is by far my favorite meal of the day! I don’t discriminate when it comes to breakfast foods. But, I do have strong feelings about eating non-breakfast foods before noon (it’s unnatural – change my mind). My go-to breakfast is usually eggs, turkey sausage, and toast. But, if you drop donuts off at my house, I will not turn them down!
9:00 AM – Mama Time
After I clean up the mess from breakfast, I make sure to do something for me! Being home in my jammies all day with my kiddos can really make me feel “blah”. Whether its putting on a little bit of makeup, curling my hair or putting on actual clothes, I try to do something that makes me feel good about myself.
9:30 AM – Start Day
I use this time of the morning to get my day going by doing little things around the house. Personally, I am most productive first thing in the morning before all of my energy is drained from keeping up with the kids. So, I will do some laundry, start the dishwasher, or pick up a few things around the house. If we have plans later in the day, I’ll use this time to kind of get everything gathered and ready to go.
10:00 AM – Be Productive
For the rest of my morning, I will spend it working. I’ll tackle a few things for the boutique, write some blog posts, take care of bills, etc. Also, cup of coffee #2 usually happens around this time because who can work without coffee?!
I hope this helps you in creating a wonderful morning routine that works for you! What does your morning routine look like?
With love & grace,
